News in Brief:
-BUA Foods Plc recorded ₦1.77 trillion in revenue for 2025, driven by strong demand for staple food products, and proposed a ₦28 per share dividend.
-The company also posted significant profit growth and strengthened its asset base, positioning it for continued expansion despite economic pressures.
BUA Foods Plc has reported a strong financial performance for the 2025 financial year, posting revenue of ₦1.77 trillion, a 16 per cent increase from ₦1.53 trillion recorded in 2024.
The company disclosed its audited results on Monday, highlighting sustained demand across its core product segments, including sugar, flour, pasta, and rice. The growth reflects BUA Foods’ continued expansion strategy and its ability to scale operations despite Nigeria’s challenging economic environment.
In line with its performance, the company’s board proposed a dividend of ₦28 per share, representing a 115 per cent increase from the ₦13 paid in the previous year. The proposed payout totals ₦504 billion and is subject to shareholder approval at the company’s 2026 Annual General Meeting.
Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu said the results demonstrate the strength of the company’s long-term strategy. He noted that the increased dividend underscores BUA Foods’ commitment to delivering enhanced value to its shareholders while maintaining investments for future growth.
Also commenting, Managing Director Ayodele Musibau Abioye said the company remains focused on sustaining revenue growth through capacity expansion, improved market penetration, and efficient supply chain management. He added that strong demand across product lines reinforces confidence in the company’s strategic direction.
Profit Growth and Strong Balance Sheet
Further details show that BUA Foods nearly doubled its net profit to over ₦518 billion, supported by higher sales volumes and improved pricing. Gross profit rose significantly to ₦737.3 billion, while operating profit climbed to ₦656.6 billion, reflecting improved operational efficiency.
Despite rising selling, distribution, and administrative expenses, the company maintained a solid financial position. Total assets increased by 27 per cent to ₦1.39 trillion, while shareholders’ equity rose to ₦713.4 billion, indicating strong balance sheet resilience.
BUA Foods’ performance comes at a time when Nigeria’s consumer goods sector continues to face inflationary pressures and high production costs. However, demand for staple food products has remained relatively stable, supporting growth for major manufacturers.
With continued investment across its value chain and strong market fundamentals, BUA Foods says it is well-positioned to sustain its growth trajectory while contributing to food security and economic development in Nigeria and across West Africa.
