The Director-General of Imole Progressive Network (IPN) and entrepreneur, Engr. Michael Abayomi Adeyanju, recently rolled out a large-scale agricultural empowerment and youth support programme across the Ondo North Senatorial District.
The initiative, delivered in partnership with Tex-Mex Royal Farms Ltd, was officially launched on Saturday, November 29, 2025, providing essential farm inputs and training to boost local food production and economic resilience.
Three-Phase Rollout Across Six Local Governments
According to the organisers, the programme is being executed in three phases:
- Phase 1 (Nov. 29, 2025): Owo and Ose LGAs
- Phase 2 (Dec. 6, 2025): Akoko South-East and Akoko South-West LGAs
- Phase 3 (Dec. 13, 2025): Akoko North-East and Akoko North-West LGAs
Items distributed include hybrid maize seeds, hybrid cassava stems, cutlasses, herbicides, water pumps, and other essential farming materials and chemicals.
A beneficiary described the gesture as 'exactly what we need in an agrarian society like ours.'
Community Leaders Praise Support for Grassroots Productivity
Reacting to the launch, local stakeholder Ajibade Ologunade Adeshina hailed Adeyanju, a notable All Progressives Congress (APC) figure, for his consistent commitment to people-focused development.
He described Adeyanju as 'a champion of people’s prosperity' and commended him for equipping and empowering farmers to secure the future of food production in the region.
Adeshina added that the initiative will increase yield and income for farmers, strengthen food security, drive poverty reduction, and spur economic diversification across 72 wards.
“You have filled the gap for people to benefit from democracy despite not being the current senator,” he said.
He further labelled Adeyanju’s growing political profile in 2027 as 'a beacon of hope.'
Beneficiaries Extend Appreciation to Adeyanju and IPN Leadership
In a message shared on the IPN platform on Sunday, November 30, 2025, Akin Akinyemi expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries in Owo and Ose.
“Words are not enough to thank you, sir. We will keep praying for God to guide you and enrich your purse. God bless IPN and Ondo North Senatorial District,” he stated.
Akinyemi also lauded Hon. Chris Olorunfemi, the organisation's Secretary-General, for ensuring effective programme coordination.
