News in brief:
-NutriSelect Pure wins the Best Organic Fertiliser for Organic Farm Yields award, as the product meets EU organic certification standards and NAFDAC approval.
-This recognition reflects the rising demand for certified organic inputs in Nigeria.
NutriSelect Pure, an organic mineral fertiliser, has emerged as the winner of the Best Fertiliser for Organic Farm Yields and Organic Food Production award at the Aso 2026 Prestigious Awards. The award is a platform that recognises outstanding contributions to agricultural development, sustainability, and food security in Nigeria.
The award was announced during the Aso 2026 Prestigious Awards ceremony, which brought together policymakers, agribusiness leaders, farmers’ organisations, and key stakeholders across Nigeria’s agricultural value chain.
Certified Organic Fertiliser Meets International Standards
NutriSelect Pure is a certified organic fertiliser formulated to improve soil health and enhance crop nutrition within organic farming systems. Information presented at the event showed that the product complies with European Union organic certification standards and has also received approval from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
This dual certification qualifies the fertiliser for use in regulated organic food production, both for domestic consumption and for export-oriented farming.
Award Based on Impact and Sustainability
According to the organisers, the award was based on NutriSelect Pure’s demonstrated impact on improving organic farm yields, its role in supporting safe and traceable organic food production, and its alignment with Nigeria’s broader push toward sustainable agriculture.
Agricultural analysts at the ceremony noted that certified organic inputs are becoming increasingly important as Nigeria seeks to expand organic food production for export markets.
Export Requirements Drive Demand for Certified Inputs
Analysts observed that international markets, particularly in Europe, impose strict compliance requirements on organic inputs. This makes the availability of certified fertilisers essential for Nigerian farmers producing grains, vegetables, fruits, and speciality crops for export.
They added that access to compliant organic fertilisers strengthens Nigeria’s competitiveness in global organic food markets.
Meanwhile, the recognition comes amid Nigeria’s import control regime, under which the Nigeria Customs Service restricts the importation of certain mineral or chemical fertilisers containing nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. These restrictions, however, do not apply to organic fertilisers classified under HS Codes 3105.10.00.00 to 3105.90.00.00.
This policy environment has increased interest in locally produced, compliant organic fertiliser options such as NutriSelect Pure.
Distribution and Farmer Endorsement
In Nigeria, NutriSelect Pure is distributed by Selector Nigeria Limited and Kaysa Agro Allied & Organic Farms Limited, supplying inputs to both organic and conventional farmers nationwide.
The fertiliser is also endorsed by the Farmers Association of Nigeria, a backing that stakeholders say reflects growing confidence among farmers in inputs that promote soil sustainability, food safety, and long-term productivity.
Observers at the Aso 2026 Prestigious Awards said the recognition of organic farming inputs signals a broader policy and market shift toward environmentally responsible agriculture and improved competitiveness of Nigerian organic produce.
NutriSelect Pure is currently available nationwide through its authorised distributors.
